"Tokaido Kosaku Exhibit"

The idea of Anzai Hajime, “Tokaido Kosaku Exhibit” is an exhibition series based on the theme of homework & handicraft which began in 2002. CCC will host the 7th Kosaku Exhibit, “Tokaido Kosaku Exhibit”, the first to be held outside of Tokyo. The exhibit concept will have the participating illustrators, manga creators and artists go back to their creative roots and present their handicraft homework to the “sensei (teacher)”. During the exhibit period there will also be a workshop and talk show with the 9 participating artists: Anzai Hajime, Shirane Yutanpo. Shiriagari Kotobuki, Nagino Takahiro, Nankin, Paradise Yamamoto, Takahashi Kintaro, Asakura Sekaiichi, and Mic Itaya.

"Bringing Sumpu Castle Back to Life" Workshop

When: 2010.09.5 (sat) 10:00-17:00 *time may change
Where: CCC/ 3F
Instructors: Kosaku Exhibit members
Admission: 1000 yen
Limited to the first 30 people to register. Anyone age 18 or over can participate

Along with the artists from the Tokaido Kosaku Exhibit, recreate Sumpu castle and the castle towns with cardboard and other objects.

"History & Mission of the Kosaku Exhibit Members" Talk Show

Admission: Free
Limited to the first 80 people to register.

*Tea ceremonies performed by the artists at their respective tea rooms is planned for after the talk from 18:00-19:00. (free)

Anzai Hajime
Illustrator, Art Director

Born in 1965, Tokyo. Concentrating on design for the music industry, he also is involved in character design, editorial design, animation, narration, exhibition and part of a band.

Shirane Yutanpo
Illustrator

Born in 1968 in Saitama. A freelance illustrator, he has work for DVD visuals including Japanese band Rip Slyme's "Quick Cut" DVD. He is also part of a performance unit YUTOONZ.

Shiriagari Kotobuki
Manga Artist

Born in 1958 in Shizuoka. After graduating university he worked at Kirin Beverage. until he debuted as a manga artist with the work "Eriki-no-Haru". He also writes, does filmwork and other art activities.

Nagino Takahiro
Illustrator

Born in 1952 and graduated from Tama Art University. He has won various awards including a Clio and has held multiple solo-exhibits.

Nankin
Illustrator

Born in 1959 in Tokyo. He is a member of the comedy company Wahaha Honpo in charge of character goods illustration as well as performing. Performances include the stage as well as television.

Paradise Yamamoto
Mambonsai Artist

Born in 1962 in Sapporo and graduated with a degree in industrial design. After a career in car design he released his debut CD, "Mambo Heaven", in 1983.

Takahashi Kintaro
Illustrator, Art Director

Freelance illustrator graduating from Tama Art University. Works includes many for television commercials and programming. Also involved in book & editorial design and exhibitions.

Asakura Sekaiichi
Manga Artist

Born in 1965 in Tokyo. Began drawing comic strips as a part-time worker at a magazine, debuting in 1988 with the manga "Osaru-de-Grache". He also does illustrations for books, CD jackets and magazines.

Mic Itaya
Visual Artist

Born in 1954 in Mito City. After graduating from university he has been involved in fashion design and fashion illustration. He was also the art director for the sound & visual magazine "Tra/トラ".
