Bio Karla Kracht
Karla Kracht, a multidisciplinary artist, integrates video art, illustration, animation,
sculpture, electronics, and performance into her creative practice. Based in Barcelona
since 2004, she studied in Germany, the UK, and Spain. Her award-winning work has
been shown in festivals, galleries, museums, theaters, and art centers worldwide,
including prominent object and puppet theatre festivals.
Karla’s creations have been featured at the Official Selection of Charleville-Mézières’
Festival Mondial des Théâtres de Marionnettes, Reims Scènes d’Europe, Taipei
Puppetry Art Center, Fira de Titelles de Lleida, Festival de Títeres de Cádiz, and
Figurentheaterfestival Erlangen, among many others.
Her practice is deeply rooted in site-specific and live art, crafting immersive
multimedia performances that seamlessly blend handmade puppets and objects with
cutting-edge technology. She creates retro-futurist techno-sculptures, blending
hand-drawn art with their digital reflections through live cameras, illustrations, video,
shadow projections, light, interaction and animation. These dynamic elements
transform the entire stage into bizarre universes teeming with strange creatures and
miniature cities, inhabited by mythological cyborg goddesses that weave sci-fi tales
of contemporary social and political intrigue.
Karla participates in residency programs around the world, immersing herself in
diverse cultures that profoundly influence her intercultural approach. She also
conducts workshops on her artistic methodology and creative processes at
universities, festivals and art spaces, including the National University of Singapore,
National Taiwan University of Arts and Colorado State University.
Currently, Karla explores mystical aspects of society, envisioning scenarios for a post-
sapiens world where myths and the magic of machines and humans converge.

What is CCC Frontier Festival
This is a truly unique festival that has never been held before. While pursuing the possibility of performing arts, we will discover and create new attractions by implementing modern art and design in different parts of the city. It is such a cultivated festival.
Sponsored by the Shizuoka City Center for the Promotion of Culture and Creative Industry (CCC). So far, we have held a festival of creative physical expression across genres such as dance, street performance, theater, and so on, beyond the boundaries of “Professional and Amateur” and “Performance and Audience” every March. In order to create something new unique to CCC, this festival will continue to explore the direction of the festival by combining expressions and manpower of various genres. That is a move that can be said to be worthy of the title of Frontier (frontiers, fringe, cutting edge, new areas, untapped areas).
CCC FF Producer/Masaki Koga
CCC Frontier Festival 2025
Performance period: 2025.03.21~03.23
The art exhibition will be held until 2025.03.30
Venue: Altier, Asoviva Theater, CCC, and various locations around the city
Details will be updated from time to time.
CONCEPT. Frontier
It’s more interesting at the end than in the middle.
Strange is more interesting than normal.
★The world is losing its “center”
Needless to look back on history, the 20th century was in a system in which the United States dominated the world as a “hegemony nation” (center) and surrounded areas were economically subordinated. However, with global capitalism covering the world and the Internet spreading beyond the boundaries of countries, wealth cannot continue to concentrate on certain central hegemonic countries. The world is losing its center and flattening.
From now on, it will be an era in which “border” cities around the world will grow in strength and each of them will form a flat network.
I think Shizuoka should also actively aim to create a town as a “border.”
IMPACT
Through various arts and cultures, we will discover new attractions (people, places, events, things) of Shizuoka, polish, create, mix, and communicate
“By reviewing the power of “”fringe”” and “”frontier”” and actively utilizing that power, we will re-edit the city of Shizuoka and aim to become an internationally recognized creative city.”
THEMA Love Yourself
It’s fun because everyone is different.
Be more confident in yourself.
Let’s love ourselves more.
Let’s cherish others more.
Let’s respect others more.
CONTENT
Multiply the heterogeneity of various fields.
Visualize the charm of the frontier through Art and Design.
In addition to performing art, we aim for a multi-festival design that encompasses a variety of Creative Industries including contemporary art, design, food and tourism.
